Centegra to Host 4th Annual Health Strong Woman Event

Renowned author, chef and TV personality to perform cooking demonstration

Crystal Lake January 21, 2010 -- The 4th Annual Centegra Health Strong Woman Event will take place Thursday, Feb. 18 to provide women of all ages with a day to take time for themselves in honor of a healthier lifestyle. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn.

Women in attendance can take advantage of free health screenings including HeartAware, a cardiovascular screening that is also available online free to men and women by visiting centegra.org; Body Mass Index testing; diabetes screenings; blood pressure testing; advice on how to be a friend to someone with cancer and bone density screenings. Women also will have the opportunity to participate in a bra fitting by a certified bra fitter. In addition, vascular screenings for $129 will be available by appointment by calling 877-CENTEGRA.

Women also may take advantage of a light, healthy lunch. Algonquin Commons will provide free gift bags for all those in attendance. Also, the first 300 women to register receive a free American Heart Association Cookbook.

Kathleen Daelemans, renowned author, chef and TV personality will conduct a cooking demonstration on how to live a healthier life. She is known for her 80-pound weight loss as a result of her cooking habits. Centegra’s newest cardiothoracic surgeon, Fernando Lamounier, MD, will be the guest speaker and will discuss heart healthy choices for women. Lamounier completed his thoracic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 2006 and joins Centegra from a group practice in Colorado where he specialized in valve surgery. This new and expanded surgical option complements the already impressive revolutionary procedures performed at Centegra to improve the overall health and wellness of the McHenry County community
